Discrimination Mediation -- in Employment, Housing & Public Accomodations

The Nashville Conflict Resolution Center partners with the Tennessee Human Rights Commission to provide bi-lingual mediation services.

The Commission's mission is to enforce the Tennessee Human Rights Act and the Tennessee Disability Act by conducting thorough investigations and by educating the public about their rights with respect to discrimination. The Commission accepts complaints of employment, housing and public accommodations discrimination based on race, color, national origin, religion, creed, gender, age, familial status and disability

THRC facilitates a successful mediation program that is offered at no cost to all parties involved in the employment complaint investigation process. During mediation, the parties can work together with the help of a trained mediator to negotiate a settlement of their complaint that can include, but is not limited to, benefits such as monetary compensation, reinstatement of jobs, transfers and training.

Any person who believes he or she has been illegally discriminated against can file a complaint, at no cost, by visiting any one of the four THRC offices or by calling toll free at 1-800-251-3589. For more information on how to contact THRC, please visit the website at www.tn.gov/humanrights.
