Ready to take your listening skills to the next level?  This advanced training will teach mediators a trio of skills to help hear and understand mediation participants better, work on being non-judgmental (even while we are full of opinions), and develop strategies that allow participants to make their own decisions in mediation.  Read Erricka's bio

David W. McMillan, Ph.D.

Breaking Deadlocks with the Third Position

Presented by DR. DAVID MCMILLAN,
Psychotherapist & Member of the NCRC Board of Directors

Place:  Second Presbyterian Church, 3511 Belmont Blvd, Nashville
Cost:  $15

4 hrs of CME credit approved for Rule 31 mediators

RSVP by 3/22

The primary purpose of the third position is to re-frame a dispute in terms of community
or transcendent values.  Parties often become entrenched in me vs. you, win / lose, I'm
right / you're wrong postures.  The third position invites parties to think with values instead
of interests.  It begins the process of collaborative problem-solving in place of what was
an adversarial process.  Read David's bio
