Mediator Spotlight

About NCRC

The Nashville Conflict Resolution Center is a community resource center where folks can go to work out problems without the high cost of litigation.  Using mediation, negotiation, and dialogue as tools to resolve conflicts, NCRC helps individuals and groups communicate needs and interests, express grievances, and develop mutually acceptable solutions.

MISSION

Our mission is to provide high-quality and affordable mediation services and conflict resolution education to Nashville communities - empowering individuals to prevent, manage and resolve conflicts without violence.

NCRC is Nashville's only non-profit organization solely dedicated to offering mediation for free or at low cost (on a sliding scale basis).  We aim to make mediation accessible to anyone who needs it, regardless of ability to pay.  Our mediators are both pro bono and community volunteers who have received thorough training in mediation.  Experience is not required to volunteer with NCRC; in fact, new mediators with no experience often sign up to volunteer because of our apprenticeship, skills-building and networking opportunities.

If you are a trained Rule 31 mediator - or have received a minimum of 30 hours basic mediation training - and would like to volunteer in our programs, please download our Volunteer Mediator Application form

If you want to become a mediator, visit the Training section of this website to find out when our next training will be held.

GOALS

  • To bring individuals face-to-face to facilitate communication, understand the root causes of conflict, and develop joint solutions
  • To use mediation and conflict resolution education to achieve sustainable solutions that will prevent future violence
  • To reduce judicial backlogs and ease the burden on court resources and local service agencies by helping disputants solve problems before going to court

Mediation saves time, money & stress!
